We’re pleased to announce that Simon Robinson and Andrew McRae have officially been sworn in as Councillors for the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes.
Simon and Andrew are filling vacancies created by two recent resignations.
Under the Local Government Act 1995, when a Councillor resigns within the first 12 months of being elected, the position can be filled by one of the next two placed candidates, provided eligible candidates are available. Both Simon and Andrew were candidates in the previous election and have now been elected through the legislated process which has avoided any need for an extraordinary election.
Simon and Andrew will serve the remainder of the four-year Council term, ensuring Council continues to operate at full capacity and provide consistent representation for our community.
Please join us in welcoming them as they step into this important role. We look forward to their contributions and commitment to Bridgetown-Greenbushes.
