Local Planning Policies

Description of image

Local Planning Policies provide guidance on planning and development matters within the Shire. They establish the Shire's expectations for specific types of development and land use, helping to ensure consistent, transparent and well-informed planning outcomes.

The policies support the orderly and sustainable development of the district while recognising local character, environmental values and community aspirations. They assist landowners, developers, consultants and the community to understand the considerations that may apply when preparing or assessing development proposals.

Local Planning Policies are taken into account during the assessment of relevant planning applications and should be considered alongside other applicable planning requirements, strategies and statutory provisions.

The policies listed below are available for download and provide additional guidance on a range of planning and development matters.
