Treated Timber Reminder

Published on Friday, 2 October 2026 at 3:32:48 PM

Council has adopted a new fee for treated timber for the 2026/27 financial year. This change is required to meet regulatory requirements and support the ongoing operation of the Bridgetown Waste Facility under its current licence conditions.
The new charge will not come into effect until dedicated bins are available on site to separate treated timber from other waste streams. Bins are expected to arrive around mid to late October, with a commencement date to be confirmed closer to the time.
Until then, treated timber will continue to be accepted with general waste and charged at the current general waste rate.
Information on the applicable charges, and how treated timber will need to be separated and presented once the new system is in place can be found here: https://www.bridgetown.wa.gov.au/timber-treatment.aspx
