Safety upgrades at the Steere Street, Stewart Street and Civic Lane intersections are progressing well.
Kerbing is now complete. Next week we'll be backfilling the islands and starting paving works. Line marking and signage are scheduled for late September or early October, weather permitting.
The works bring these intersections up to Main Roads WA design and safety standards. Steere Street is a Main Roads controlled road, and improving sight lines for vehicles exiting Stewart Street and the Civic Carpark has meant removing a tree and two parking bays - one outside the newsagency and one next to the Civic Carpark.
We're also planning two additional parking bays on Stewart Street. We'll share more once dates are confirmed.
