The Shire of Bridgetown–Greenbushes is reminding residents to keep fire hydrants clear of parked vehicles at all times, following recent instances of cars obstructing access to key hydrant locations.
One hydrant of particular importance is located outside the Bridgetown Tennis Club. This hydrant is a main town hydrant and must be accessible immediately during an emergency. Any obstruction — even a short stop or partial blockage — can delay firefighting response when every second counts.
Residents who have a fire hydrant located on their verge are also asked to ensure the area around the hydrant remains clear at all times. Maintaining unobstructed access is essential to support fast and effective emergency response.
