With the Restricted Burning Period (Permit Season) commencing at 12:01 am tomorrow, 15 October 2025, we remind the community that permits are required for all burning activities.
To assist us in managing bushfire risk as we enter the warmer months, the following points will apply:
• Permits are required for burning off until the 30th of November (subject to change).
• All burning without a valid permit is prohibited. If you wish to burn, please contact your local Fire Control Officer (FCO) to discuss what is and isn’t permitted.
• Permits will only be issued under suitable weather conditions and may be suspended or cancelled if conditions become unsafe.
• The Shire will continue to monitor conditions and will update the community if restrictions change.
• Any burns to be conducted on Roadside Verges require a Thoroughfares Permit issued by the Shire Ranger.
Please reach out to your local Fire Control Officer if you have any questions or alternatively contact the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes on 9761 0800.
Thank you for your understanding and commitment to protecting our community.
