PLANNING A CONTROLLED BURN? HELP PREVENT FALSE CALLOUTS!

The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, on behalf of our local Bush Fire Brigades, reminds residents that although permits are not currently required, registering your burn is still important.
Unregistered burns can trigger emergency calls and unnecessarily activate our local volunteer firefighters.
REGISTER YOUR BURN WITH DFES
Call the DFES Communications Centre (COMCEN) on 08 9395 9209 immediately before lighting your fire.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Before lighting your burn, remember to:
• Ensure you have an adequate water supply onsite.
• Establish a mineral earth break around the burn area.
• Check weather conditions and ensure it is safe to burn.
• Register your burn with DFES immediately before lighting.
Registering your burn helps emergency services identify controlled burns and reduces unnecessary 000 calls and false alarms.
Our local firefighters are volunteers who give their time to protect our community. Help us prevent unnecessary callouts by registering your burn!
Please share this reminder with friends, family and neighbours.
