A little bit of weather couldn't dampen our spirits yesterday! It was incredible to see everyone turn out to celebrate what makes our Community so special.
We kicked things off the right way with a massive BBQ Breakfast, fueling up for a day full of community activities. Our Councillors were on the grill making sure everyone was fed, a big thank you for their assistance.
A huge highlight was our Citizen of the Year Awards. We are so proud to officially congratulate our two winners for their outstanding contributions to the Community:
- Dr Sarah Youngson, Community Citizen of the year award
- The Rotary Club of Bridgetown, Active Citizen group of the year award
Thank you for everything you do to make our community thrive!
We also officially welcomed our newest Australians during a moving Citizenship Ceremony, it was an honor to share that moment with you all.
Once the rain cleared, the activities continued, with the Bridgetown Pool open and free all day! We then moved on to a delicious free lunch hosted by the incredible Lions Club, who kept the hamburgers coming - with Mr Soft and Scoop serving free ice creams for everyone!
We wrapped up the celebrations in the dry and cozy Town Hall with a family movie, complete with free popcorn and juice.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize, volunteer, and attend. It’s the people that make this Community the best place to be, rain or shine!
