Some fantastic footage was taken of Bridgetown and Greenbushes on Tuesday 2 March by the film crew from Victoria who were doing interviews and collecting film footage for a TV program called “Trails Towns”.

Community involvement included a guided tour of the Bridgetown Art Trail by Trudy Clothier who coordinated stage 2 of this project as well as a range of interviews with local trail users and tourism operators who actively work in the culinary trail space.

The film crew also captured great action footage of people utilising our canoe, mountain bike, bridle and walk trails as well as the Bridgetown campsite located on the regional bridle trail (WA’s first regional equine trail which traverses through the Shires of Manjimup, Nannup and Bridgetown-Greenbushes).

The highly skilled and professional team had great equipment including a high-tech drone which secured aerial shots including close up footage of a pair of endangered red tail black cockatoos high in the tree tops.

‘Trail Towns’ is the first bicycle and active tourism show in Australia and will premiere on the SBS and SBS on demand in June while the Tour de France airs. Travelling all over Australia and New Zealand, the hosts Vandy and Deetz meet with local experts, business owners and tourism operators to highlight the very best places to participate in trails tourism.

This project is funded by the Shires of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Donnybrook-Balingup, Manjimup and Nannup as well as the Southern Forests and Valleys Tourism Association.

Trail Towns will share the story of the amazing Southern Forests and Valleys with Australia and the world and show why it's one of the best places to have a trail based holiday. You can view a trailer for Trails Towns here.
