Community groups across the Shire were invited to enjoy a night of feasting and festivities at this year’s Celebration of Volunteers event. Even with the cold Djeran winds sweeping through town, it was a warm and lively night inside the newly renovated Town Hall.

The Celebration of Volunteers event is a night for our tireless volunteering community to take a break and revel in the amazing things they have achieved over the past year, as well as recognising the efforts of key individual volunteers. It was a full house in the Town Hall with over 20 community groups attending the night, totaling up to 100 attendees. Conversation was rife with excitement as everyone saw old friends and made new ones, all accompanied by the relaxing live jazz played by the fantastic musical duo Brandie & Wise and delicious dinner by the excellent cooks at Maranup Ford Caravan Park.
This year’s awards ceremony saw eight exceptional volunteers recognised for their outstanding achievements:
- Didith from Greenbushes CWA
- Wendy & Craig from the Bridgetown Basketball Association
- All Transition Bridgetown members
- Natasha from Bridgetown Hub
- Graeme from Bridgetown Swimming Club
- Sally from Geegeelup Village (volunteer)
The Shire award was presented to Kaye for all her work supporting volunteers and community groups across the shire.
A big thanks to our sponsors Volunteering WA and Lotterywest for making the night possible, as well as; Brandie & Wise for the live music, Maranup Ford Caravan Park for the catering, and Earth Blooms Bridgetown for the flower arrangements.

Thank you to everyone who attended and please look forward to next year’s Celebration of Volunteers night.
