Following on from our news story in late June, we have completed the installation of the container exchange points to be trialed in Bridgetown! These allow for diversion of these containers from landfill in our public spaces and it is encouraging to see the community is utilising them!
Containers left at Container Exchange Points are free for anyone to collect and return to refund points. You can read our previous article here.
Check the QR code on them if unsure if your container is eligible and please no coffee cups.
The new cradles, seen in the photo below, are specifically for high traffic areas. Just pop your drink container in the holder ready for someone to collect.
These are the locations for these exchange points:
Caravan Rest point off Spencer St (opposite new Visitors centre) - basket
Park near the Dentist on Hampton St - basket
Near Blackwood Valley Real Estate - cradle
Kiosk/Public Toilets on Hampton St - cradle
Bridgetown Post Office - basket
Memorial Park on Hampton St - basket
Near the Bakery - cradle
Near Mulberry Café - cradle
We are planning to install these exchange points in Greenbushes but are awaiting poles to attach the baskets to. Watch this space!
