Shire President, Cr Lansdell announced today that the Council has unanimously approved a significant organisational restructure and re-alignment that is aimed at improving long term focus, operational efficiency, and customer services to the Bridgetown-Greenbushes community. Three new Director positions have been created, and four Executive Manager and other positions have been made redundant.
The decision follows a comprehensive four-month review of the organisation undertaken by the temporary CEO, Arthur Kyron. This review identified the need to reshape the structure and functions of the organisation to better align with current and emerging priorities, the future challenges the Shire will be facing and to directly address concerns raised throughout the review process:
- A perception the shire has lost touch with the community
- Loss of confidence in the Shires administration
- High staff turnover experienced in 2024
- Lost opportunities for the Shire over the past years
- The Shire’s lack of profile with government
Cr Tracy Lansdell stated, “This has been a difficult but necessary decision. We recognise the impact this has on our employees, and we are committed to supporting them throughout this transition”.
“Our priority has been to ensure we can deliver high-quality customer focused services and rebuild trust with our community. We believe that these changes will better equip the Shire to meet the evolving needs of our community and to become synonymous with a can-do approach”. Said Cr Lansdell
Shire President Cr Lansdell also stated an announcement on the new CEO is imminent.
The Council will continue to keep the community informed through the implementation of these changes.
