Wooroloo Bush Fire Support

Our community is all too familiar with to the ravages and impacts of bushfire disaster. We have all been shocked to see the extent of destruction caused by the Wooroloo Bush Fires during the week.

We live in a generous and compassionate community which is often proactive in provide support to those in need.

As always our local volunteer bushfire brigades are actively supporting the immediate firefighting endeavour. One crew has already left to support the fight to control this bushfire with another one on standby.

If you are interested in assisting with fundraising or providing a direct financial donation to assist those in need due to the Wooroloo Bush Fires, the best way to do so is via the Lord Mayors Distress Relief Fund (LMDRF).

The LMDRF was established in 1961 following disastrous fires in Dwellingup which saw 123 people left homeless after 4 timber towns were completely burnt out. The fund was established in conjunction with the State Government to provide financial assistance to individuals for the relief of distress, suffering and personal hardship caused by any disaster or emergency within Western Australia. Since 1961 the fund has undertaken 49 appeals and relief assistance programs.
