Southern Forests & Valleys Tourism Association Update

Published on Friday, 8 January 2021 at 9:33:56 AM

We have previously kept you up to date with regard to the focus, achievements and opportunities created by the Southern Forests & Valley’s Tourism Association.  This Association has been formed to brand and market the region so that we attract and retain more visitors.  The region comprises the Shires of Manjimup, Nannup and Bridgetown-Greenbushes.

One exciting opportunity that will be kicking off in the New Year is filming of the region as a “trails destination” for an upcoming SBS television program.  We will keep you posted further on that during January and February.

The inaugural CEO of the Association, Wendy Duncan, resigned in late 2020 after establishing and developing the fledgling Association.  Recently the Association’s Board advised of the appointment of Liz Jack, from the Centre of Sustainable Tourism, as the Acting CEO.  Liz’s appointment is temporary whilst the Board reviews their human resourcing requirements as they move towards a dedicated marketing focus.  You can learn about Liz Jack here.

The Association recently conducted their Annual General Meeting and the minutes can be viewed here.
