Each year Council allocates $160,000 to assist local sporting, art and community groups with one off projects (community grants) and 3 year financial assistance (service agreements) for projects, events and activities. This funding allocation also allows for a range of donations and contributions.
The application period opens each year on 1 December and closes on the last Friday in February (this year that is Friday 25 February). Applications can be accessed here.
Council’s policy that guides decision making in awarding funding (Policy F.1) requires funded projects to link with its strategic objectives and corporate business plan actions. You will need to meet with our Executive Manager Community Services (Elizabeth Denniss) before you submit your application. This helps ensure your project aligns with Council's strategic vision and Elizabeth can also help with grant writing guidance (including reviewing your application if it is shared with enough lead in time prior to the closure of the application period).
