Councillor Peter Quinby has resigned from Council, effective Thursday 5 May 2023.

Peter served as a councillor for a total of 7.5 years, over two periods, first from 2013-17 and then again from 2019-23.

During his time as a councillor Peter has been a member of the Access and Inclusion, Audit, Bush Fires, Sustainability, and Trails Development Advisory Committees. He has also been Council’s delegate to the Bridgetown Greenbushes Business & Tourism Association Committee.

Peter and his partner Stephanie are relocating to Busselton for personal reasons.

CEO Tim Clynch paid tribute to Cr Quinby saying, “Peter has been a great contributor to the council over his 2 terms of councillor, providing sage advice and input into what at times can be complex matters for the Council to address”.

We wish Peter all the best in his future endeavours.

Noting the recent resignation of Cr Amanda Rose, this brings the total number of councillors down to 7.  The Western Australian Electoral Commissioner has approved Council’s request for the 2 vacancies to be held open until the ordinary elections in October, thereby saving the expense of holding an extraordinary election.
