Growth Strategy Project Kicks Off

Over the past 18 months Council has been working hard to lobby the state and federal government for increased investment in our community.

This has been very successful with non-competitive investment of approximately $900,000 secured for a range of projects including upgrades to the River Park walk trails (Blackwood Foreshore Park Redevelopment Project), refurbishment of the Bridgetown and Greenbushes Railway Stations, upgrade of the Bridgetown Town Hall and an upgrade/extension of the skate park to a multi-use Youth Precinct.

Next week, work will commence on the first project (Blackwood River Foreshore Park Redevelopment).  You might have already noticed security fencing on site near the Old Rectory Walk Trail which was put up prior to the project starting.

We will keep you updated with progress on all projects as they roll out.  We will soon have a designated website page for these four projects and information on proposed projects also.  In the meantime you can review a recent story on additional funding received for the Railway Stations Restoration Project here
