THE SHIRE

The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes is located just over 250km south of Perth and around 90km south of Bunbury. The Shire is a Band 3 Local Government and has the rare combination of old world charm, modern facilities, history and natural beauty. The Shire is the location of the world’s largest lithium mine and is currently undergoing a dramatic change and substantial growth which the Chief Executive Officer will be required to manage whilst reflecting the Shire’s values to be welcoming, community minded, creative, sustainable and cost effective.

THE ROLE

Reporting to Elected Members, the Chief Executive Officer will guide the transition through this exciting phase, balancing the rapid expansion of the population alongside the needs of a tight-knit, creative and rural community.  Responsibilities will include leading the team in the strategic delivery of the Strategic Community and Corporate Business Plans whilst ensuring careful management of the Shire’s physical, financial and human resources. Additionally the successful candidate will have responsibility for the provision of high-level advice and support to the Council and create and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders including industry, business leaders, the broader community and other levels of Government.

REQUIREMENTS

If you have significant experience at an executive level in a complex and multi-disciplinary organisation, we would be interested to hear from you. A visionary leader with exceptional interpersonal and change management skills will be the ideal candidate for this Shire, and balancing innovation whilst ensuring compliance will be the key to success. Demonstrated experience in project delivery, financial management and strategic planning will be essential to deliver the objectives of the Elected Members and the community.

THE PACKAGE

The total reward package range for this three-to-five-year contract is offered in accordance with SAT Band 3, being $161,920 to $266,983. This is an opportunity to make a lifestyle change and make a positive contribution to the vibrant future of the Shire.

Casual Employment Pool

The Shire is calling for suitable candidates who would like to be included in a pool of casual employees to work at:

Bridgetown Library
Bridgetown Leisure Centre
Bridgetown/Greenbushes Visitor Centre

There are no fixed hrs or days for these positions however weekend work may be included.

General Hand / Works 

Applications are sought from suitably enthusiastic individuals for the position of General Hand – Outside Works.  Applicants will ideally have experience in the operation and maintenance of a range of plant and machinery items typically used by regional Local Government organisations for civil works.

The full time position is offered at Level 4 of the Municipal Employees (Western Australia) Award 2021 and the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes Outside Works Staff Enterprise Agreement 2019, with an annual salary of $63,602.

Working hours are 76 per nine day fortnight from 6.30am to 3.30pm for 8 days and 6.30am to 3.00pm on the ninth day. The rostered day off is to be taken every second Monday. By agreement, the summertime start may be moved forward to 6.00am.

Working hours are 76 per nine day fortnight, from 6.30am to 3.30pm for 8 days and 6.30am to 3.00pm on the ninth day. The rostered day off is to be taken every second Monday.

Remuneration is offered at Level 4 of the Municipal Employees (Western Australia) Award 2021 and the applicable Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes Employee Enterprise Agreement, with an annual salary of $63,602.

Senior Planner

The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Senior Planner.

Under the direction of the Manager Development Services, the position is responsible for the Shire’s Town Planning Services.

Remuneration is offered at Level 7 of the Local Government Officers (Western Australia) Award 2021 and the applicable Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes Employee Enterprise Agreement, with an annual salary of up to $82,131 dependent on skills and experience.
