Emergency Management

The Shire of Bridgetown – Greenbushes has a very active Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) with Councillors and staff from the Shire, staff from the Police Service, Dept of Environment and Conservation, Department of Communities, Department of Health, FESA and local businesses together with volunteers from St John Ambulance, Red Cross, Fire and Rescue Service, SES and Bush Fire Brigades all contributing to making our community safer.

What Does the LEMC Do?

The LEMC meets at least 4 times a year to discuss how emergency services and support organisations in the Shire can prevent some emergencies from occurring, best prepare in the event of an emergency and how the community can recover and return to ‘business as usual’ after such an event.

The LEMC has developed the following documents for help guide emergency services personnel in the event of an emergency.

  • Local Emergency Management Arrangements
  • Emergency Evacuation Plan
  • Local Recovery Plan

Copies of the Local Emergency Management Arrangements can be inspected at the Shire Office during business hours.
