A Quick Chat with Sue, Skate Park Bus Run Driver

Skate Park

While our Youth Precinct is under construction, it didn’t seem fair to leave the young people in our community without somewhere to hangout! And so, the Skate Park Bus Run was suggested (thanks BYA!). Every 2 weeks Sue, a former primary school bus driver, will be transporting our young people to nearby skate parks.

We were lucky to catch up with her to see how the bus service has been going so far. On the first 2 trips, she bussed 10-11 kids to Donnybrook and Manjimup. The next stop is Bus-selton on 30 December!

“The kids have been very respectful and grateful and I’ve had a really great experience driving them. It’s wonderful that the Shire is putting together this service for them and they are looking forward to the new precinct!” Sue said.

If your land grommets are rearing to go for a skate, meet at the Bridgetown Town Square Carpark or the Greenbushes Roadhouse. (Keep a lookout on Facebook for pick up times). As a reminder please make sure they have a water bottle, snacks (or enough money to purchase), helmets, sunscreen, etc. Any changes to scheduling will be announced the week leading up to the bus run.

Importantly, this service is transportation only – these are not supervised youth activities!  The fee for the service is only $2 per day.
