Project Overview

Railways were an integral and essential part of our rich industrial heritage. The restoration of these railway stations will be an important part of a wider strategy for economic development local businesses and community members. 

The renovation of these two historic sites will provide shared community amenities to accommodate the Greenbushes Museum, the Bridgetown Environmental Society, Landcare, and Blues at Bridgetown. Grant support towards this project will sustain volunteerism and encourage increased community connection through local initiatives that promote the conservation of cultural and natural heritage, and celebration of culture and the arts.

Key Outcomes

  • Relocation of the Greenbushes Railway Station to the Greenbushes Visitor Centre & Museum
  • Development of the Greenbushes Railway Station as an interactive display (heritage module) attached to the Greenbushes Discovery Centre.

Funding Bodies

Lotterywest COVID-19 Relief Fund: Building Community Grant Program for the 'Bringing Community Home' Project, the State Government as represented by The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development through the Small Grants Program and Shire of Bridgetown Greenbushes.
