The Shire was recently successful in receiving funding from the Native Forest Transition funding offered by the department of Jobs, Tourism Science, the Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund and the Community Night Lighting Fund both offered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Talison Lithium.
The Shire received funds from round one of the Native Forest Transitions funding to purchase and install a BBQ and shelter facility at the Greenbushes Camping area near the Greenbushes sports oval. This will offer local community members, tourist, campers and sporting groups the opportunity to enjoy a community BBQ and picnic at the Greenbushes Sports Ground and camping area.
The Shire was also successful in receiving funds from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Talison to assist in paying for sub-soil drainage, irrigation, a new pump house, a new dam and lighting to AFL training standards for the Bridgetown Sports Ground. This development will improve the standard of the oval and allow our sporting teams to train at night safely.
