TourismWA has opened their annual Regional Events Scheme Funding. The funding aims to bring additional tourism income to regional communities by increasing visitor numbers and expenditure in the host community, attract media coverage that will help to raise the profile of the region as a tourist destination, involve and inspire the local community, support job creation, among other items.

The funding is eligible for events set to be scheduled between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. You can apply for funding of between $5,000 and $40,000 per year, however, TourismWA states that the funding is awarded through a competitive process, so sometimes events that meet the criteria may not be funded. The closing deadline for applications is 5pm on Tuesday 19 October 2021.
