The jewel in the crown of the South-West
Shire Rubbish and Recycling Services
The Shire's rubbish and recycling collection service extends to the Bridgetown residential area, Greenbushes, North Greenbushes and also a wide range of estates on the outskirts of town.
Collection of the red rubbish bins happen every week on a Wednesday in the Bridgetown area and every Tuesday for the Hester, Greenbushes and North Greenbushes residents.
Recycling collection is also an important part of our Waste Management Service. The recycling bins get collected every second week, on a Wednesday for the Bridgetown area and surrounding estates and on a Tuesday for the Greenbushes, North Greenbushes and Hester residents. Please refer to the map and calendar for actual pickup dates.

What happens to our recyclable materials?
Full recycling bins at the Bridgetown Waste Management site are emptied on a Tuesday and transported directly to Cleanaway’s Bunbury Depot where it is compacted and transported to the Super MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) in Perth. The Super MRF in Perth, a new standard of excellence for resource recovery in Australia is the largest facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere - the MRF sorts eight types of materials, removing the need to segregate recycling into multiple bins.
You can view a short video of the Super MRF here.
In order to make sure we have enough empty bins for the busy weekends, we have a 2nd pick up on Thursdays which is transported to Cleanaway’s Manjimup Depot before being compacted and taken to Bunbury.
