A community representative from our Trails Development Advisory Committee will be attending the WA Trails and Recreation Forum in Albany from 13 – 15 October. This annual forum is a valuable networking opportunity for the wider trails and outdoor recreation community including land managers, government agencies, local government officers, trails and outdoor recreation advocates, the corporate sector, educators and volunteers. This year the forum will provide educational insights on topics including trail planning and building and the economic benefits of trails tourism.
Our Trails Development Advisory Committee comprises representation from the Shire, the WA Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions as well as community based trail groups and enthusiasts. This Committee advises Council on key trail related matters, including the Local Trails Masterplan (revised version soon to be released for community input) and local trail projects which feature on the regional Total Trails website.
