A Special Council has been called for tonight, Tuesday 12 April 2022. It will be held at the Bridgetown Leisure Centre (BLC) from 5:30pm. All electors, regardless of vaccination status, are welcome to attend the meeting providing that face masks are worn inside the BLC (unless a medical exemption can be provided on entry). Under the State Government mandate of one person per two square metres, only 360 people can be ac
commodated on the double court, separated seating will be available.

A Special Council Meeting has been called for the purpose of considering the motions carried at the Special Meeting of Electors held on Monday 28 March 2022. The motions that were carried at the Electors meeting can be found by clicking here. It has been determined that the subject matter of the meeting is an interest in common to all electors and therefore no presentations or comments on the agenda will be permitted.
The Special Council Meeting is being held on Tuesday 12 April 2022 at The Bridgetown Leisure Centre from 5:30pm and is open to the public. As with the Special Meeting of Electors, this Meeting will be live streamed through the Shire’s Facebook Page. The meeting is being held at the Bridgetown Leisure Centre to allow for greater attendance that cannot be accommodated at the Council Chambers. Under the State Government’s COVID-19 mandate of one person per two square metres, only 360 people can be accommodated on the double court. This is the maximum attendance that can be allowed at the meeting. We estimated that 170 electors attended the March meeting.
With the potentially large number of attendees, there will be speakers set up for members of the public in attendance and microphones set up for our Councillors and members of the public wanting to ask question during Public Question Time.
Public Question Time is on the agenda for this meeting, those wanting to ask a question relevant to the subject matter must be present at the meeting. Questions received in advance from members of the public not intending to appear at the meeting will not be accepted. There will be no opportunities for deputation or presentations from members of the public.
