Social and Economic Cost of Sleep Disorders

In a report released at the end of April by Deloitte identifies that 1 in 10 Australians have a sleep disorder that can substantially affect their wellbeing, safety and productivity. This can dramatically impact on our quality of life individually and collectively as a community.

The report also references that the Australian economy took an estimated $14 billion hit during the 2019-2022 financial year due to sleep issues and a lack of wellbeing.  This is not surprising when we consider the uncertainty we faced during the first year of global changes experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
