Be a Vocal Local: Stand for Council

Local government elections are held every 2 years and the next election date is 16 October 2021.  Council members play an important community leadership role and being on Council is one way you can ensure community perspectives are heard and considered in local decision making.

Nominations for the elections open 2 September 2021 and close on 9 September 2021. Anyone interested in nominating for the election must complete a local government online induction.

The induction will give you a basic understanding of what is required from a council member and covers key topics such as:
