COVID-19 Mandatory Contact Registers at Shire Venues

Published on Monday, 7 December 2020 at 9:45:30 AM

As you are no doubt aware, from Saturday 5th December 2020 we are now required to provide our contact details when entering certain businesses and venues under State Government mandate.

We have spoken to local Bridgetown Police, and confirmed that in the event that a patron refuses to leave a venue after refusing to fill in the register, they are not only trespassing but also in breach of the WA Health Directive.  So we encourage everyone to positively comply with this requirement in Shire facilities and also our local businesses and venues.

We have registered the Bridgetown Leisure Centre (which includes the aquatic complex), the Library and the Visitor Centre so each facility has a designated QR code that can be accessed via the Safe WA App.  To learn more about this app, including how to download it please click here.

One you have the app downloaded on your smart phone, you can use it all venues and businesses that have registered.  Shire facilities will also provide a paper register for those of you who don’t want to register for this app.  Records will only be kept for 28 days.

The State Government continues to keep updated information and advice on the COVID019 coronavirus for the community and businesses in Western Australia which you can access here.

The Small Business Development Corporation have a great website blog which provides clear information regarding what is required in a mandatory contact register and what businesses and venues are required to maintain a register.  You can check the blog out here.
