Surfing Your Turf promotional posterA FREE 2.5 hour Business Accessibility Workshop will be delivered by Advocacy WA on Thursday 5 May 5:00pm – 7:30pm at Nelsons of Bridgetown Motel.

Improving the accessibility of businesses, services and events for people with disability is essential for the health and wellbeing of our society and also has significant economic benefits. It also enables people with a disability to enjoy and participate more fully in their workplaces and communities.  This free, catered workshop offers practical strategies for people working and living in the community to broaden their understanding of various disabilities while improving customer service to people with disability.

Workshop Learning Outcomes

On completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise different types of disability, including invisible disabilities
  • Communicate more effectively with people with disabilities
  • Build awareness of possible triggers & deescalate difficult situations
  • Market and deliver excellent customer service to people with disabilities
  • Make events, emails, websites and newsletters more accessible
