Works for the new Youth Precinct will be starting this week! The successful tenderer is Environmental Industries. We have had some challenges with most of our large development projects due to COVID-19 which has seen a national increase in construction across the country (and an average of a 30% price increase for civil works on original estimations!).
From Monday 18 October through to mid-January the current Skate Park will be closed. We are currently looking at options to provide a transport service to the skate parks in Boyup Brook, Manjimup and Nannup on a regular basis. Because of the cost escalations this project will be delivered in two separate stages.
The first stage will include:
- Renewal of the existing skate park
- Adding a new skate bowl
- Adding a new pump track
- Realigning a footpath
- Landscaping improvements
- Adding new basketball surface and tower
- Connecting WIFI
The second stage will provide:
- New ablution facility
- Parkour Elements
- Water refill station
We are currently working with Blackwood Youth Action regarding hosting a skate comp to officially launch stage one when finished. Haven’t heard about parkour? Check out this short documentary!
