Members of the Bridgetown Historical Society have been working hard over recent years to progressively upgrade and improve the interpretation experience for visitors at the Bridgetown Police Station Museum. The story of policing in Bridgetown is delivered in an engaging way with plans to improve the audio system, install a monitor screen, Braille brochure and Easy Read Cards so that the attraction is as universally accessible as possible to everyone. Repeated success in securing funding grants was again rewarded with a $15,000 investment from Lotterywest.
Members of the Historical Society are also actively contributing to the vibrancy of our town with events such as Ghost Walks and Historical Cemetery Tours. Recently the Chairperson (Mary Elgar) was invited to speak at a small conference in Perth regarding Heritage Tourism.
