Blessing of the Roads Community Event

Published on Friday, 12 March 2021 at 8:55:08 AM

Blessings of the Road is an event initiated by the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes since 1999 that is held annually, prior to Easter, to highlight the issues attribute to fatalities and road accidents.  These include fatigue, not wearing seat belts and speed.  You can learn more about this state-wide initiative here.

Representatives from emergency services and local schools participate in this Shire initiated event each year.  Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 the event for 2020 was cancelled.

This year, the event will be held on Monday 29 March 2021 at 9.15am in Memorial Park - or the Town Hall if there is more inclement weather!

There will be an address from Fire Brigade officials as well as a performance by St Brigid’s School Choir. David Bardsley, retired pastor with the Church of Christ will officiate the formal Blessing of the Road speech and morning tea will be served in the Lesser Hall.

All members of the community are invited to join us for this event.
