NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEVY DIFFERENTIAL RATES
FOR THE 2018/19 FINANCIAL YEAR
In accordance with Section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995, notice is hereby given with respect of the intention of the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes to adopt and levy in the 2018/19 financial year the following rates in the dollar (Rate in $) and Minimum Rates for general Gross Rental Value (GRV) and differential general Unimproved Value (UV) rates:

A Statement of Objectives and Reasons for adopting these rates is available for inspection at the Shire Offices, 1 Steere Street Bridgetown between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Submissions from electors and ratepayers in respect of the proposed rates may be made (in writing) addressed to the CEO by close of business on Friday, 20 July 2018. BUSH FIRES ACT 1954
APPOINTMENT OF BUSH FIRE CONTROL OFFICERS
It is hereby notified for public information that in accordance with section 38 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes has made the following appointments effective from 31 May 2018:
• Chief Bush Fire Control Officer - Michael Campbell
• Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer – Greg Kennedy
• Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer – Lyndon Pearce
The appointments of Hugh Browne as Chief Bush Fire Control Officer and Michael Campbell as Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer are hereby cancelled.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1995
2018/2019 SCHEDULE OF FEES & CHARGES
It is hereby notified for public information that Council, in accordance with Section 6.16 of the Local Government Act 1995, has adopted its Fees & Charges for the 2018/2019 financial year to form part of its annual budget. The Schedule of Fees & Charges may be inspected at the Shire Library during normal business hours or downloaded from the Shire website www.bridgetown.wa.gov.au.
The Fees & Charges apply from 1 July 2018.
CEMETERIES AMENDMENT LOCAL LAW 2018
The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes has resolved to amend its Cemeteries Local Law. The purpose and effect of the proposed Amendment Local Law is to provide additional clarification to Funeral Directors, Monumental Masons and the general public on Council’s requirements in relation to funerals and monumental works as well as correcting a duplication error in clause 3.3(2).
A copy of the proposed Amendment Local Law may be inspected at, or obtained from the Shire’s Library (75 Steere Street, Bridgetown) during normal opening hours Monday to Saturday. Submissions about the proposed Amendment Local Law will be accepted up to the close of business on Thursday, 28 June 2018.
TOWN PLANNING SCHEME NO. 4
PROPOSED EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRY – LARGE OPERATION (GRAVEL) – LOT 1400 SOUTH WESTERN HIGHWAY, GLENLYNN
Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes is currently considering a development application for the extraction of 166,500m3 of bank gravel and 27,636m3 of loose gravel over a five year period, on Lot 1400 South Western Highway, Glenlynn.
The application seeks to commence daily operations from 6:30am as a variation to the 7:30am start time pursuant to the Shire’s Extractive Industry Policy. A copy of the application including the Environmental Management Plan detailing the proposal can be inspected during office hours at the Shire Administration Office, 1 Steere Street, Bridgetown available up to and including Thursday 31 May 2018.
Submissions on the proposal must be made in writing and lodged with the Chief Executive Officer, Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, PO Box 271, Bridgetown WA 6255 on or before Thursday 31 May 2018. All queries should be directed to Scott Donaldson, Manager Planning on 9761 0800.

CATS LOCAL LAW 2018
The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes has resolved to make a Cats Local Law. The purpose of the proposed Local Law is to repeal the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes Keeping and Welfare of Cats Local Law and to provide Council under the proposed Cats Local Law 2018 with measures in addition to those under the Cat Act 2011 to control the keeping of cats. The effect of the proposed Local Law is to control the number of cats that can be kept, the places where cats can be kept and to control the activity of cats where a nuisance is caused.
A copy of the proposed Local Law may be inspected at, or obtained from the Shire’s Library (75 Steere Street, Bridgetown) during normal opening hours Monday to Saturday. The draft Local Law is also available here. Written submissions about the proposed Local Law will be accepted up to the close of business on Thursday, 24 May 2018.
BUSH FIRE MITIGATION WORKS PROGRAM
The Shire of Bridgetown Greenbushes has commenced carrying out works to reduce the bush fire risk around the Bridgetown - Greenbushes Shire under the Royalties for Regions Mitigation Activity Fund.
Work is being undertaken to reduce the amount of flammable fuel around high risk areas by either planned burns or by scrub rolling/mulching. The project aims to protect lives, properties and infrastructure from bush fires using various methods. The Shire has liaised with environmental groups over the planned works to ensure sensitive areas are protected.

PROPOSED ROAD CLOSURE FOR AMALGAMATION
(ADJOINING ROE STREET, BRIDGETOWN)

The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes is proposing to close an un-named and unconstructed road (formerly a Right-of-Way) adjoining Roe Street, Bridgetown, with the whole portion to be amalgamated with adjoining properties.

It is hereby notified for public information that in accordance with section 38 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes has appointed the following Fire Control Officers, effective from 22 February 2018:
• Kangaroo Gully Bush Fire Brigade - Mr Christopher Doherty
• Yornup Bush Fire Brigade - Mr Lyndon Pearce
• Maranup Bush Fire Brigade – Mr Athol Reid
• Bridgetown Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service – Mr Peter Taylor (Permit Issuing only)
The above are in addition to existing Fire Control Officer appointments.

It is hereby notified for public information that in accordance with section 38 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes has appointed Mr Stuart Waters as Fire Control Officer for the Sunnyside Bushfire Brigade. Mr Waters can be contacted on 9761 9227(h) or 0447 714 486(m).
