Local Government controls over 80% of roads within the state and as such has a responsibility for the associated safety aspects involved with those roads. WA Local Government Association ( WALGA ) has been active in the delivery of road safety service and support to both metropolitan and country councils through RoadWise - the Local Government Road Safety Strategy. Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes Roadwise Advisory Committee
The Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes supports the efforts of the Roadwise Advisory Committee and encourages members of our community and visitors to the Shire to
- Slow down;
- Don’t drink and drive;
- Make sure we wear our seatbelts and that our children are properly restrained;
- Take regular breaks, or at least every two hours, to avoid fatigue when we travel; and most importantly by
- Be responsible for our own actions and thereby assist in creating a safer road system in our community and the Southwest Region
