Office Redevelopment

For a number of years the Council has been considering the need for a new library due to the existing library having an insuffiecient floor area to accommodate the demands of the community and the normal activites expected of a public library.

In considering the development of a new library the Council has also placed a priority on the redevelopement or improvement of its administration offices and Council Chambers due to the inadequacies of both of those existing facilities.

Council has engaged an architect and quantity surveyor to prepare broad conceptual plans illustrating various options for redevelopment of its existing facilities.  These plans have been prepared as a basis for community consultation on the overall project and the decision to prepare such plans should not be interpreted as a commitment by Council that it will be selecting any of the options.

Council has posted a special newsletter outlining the project and the plans of each option to all ratepayers in the Shire, including absentee landowners.  A feedback form is included with this newsletter.  Plans for each option may be inspected at the Shire Office during normal business hours or downloaded on this website.

Written submissions addressed the Chief Executive Officer will be received up to 5.00pm on Thursday, 18 December 2008.
